DSLR Cameras Questions Archives

I have an Olympus 4000 Camedia camera for 5 years that takes great pics. But I want to get more into photography and they all say to get a dSLR. But why? I’m looking at the Nikon D40 (hubby doesn’t like the price) and the aperture for the lens seems really narrow. So I need to get more lenses? Is it really going to be that much better than my old one and why? Thanks in advance!

I am seriously thinking about investing in a new DSLR camera. The problem is…there are just so many out there. I’ve been reading review after review, but I can’t seem to find a standout.

My question is this: what is the best DSLR camera out there for amateurs? Keeping in mind, I am a beginner and will need to learn how to use the bad boy, but I don’t want that to handicap my camera choice.

Any thoughts?

Hi friends , I am planning to buy a new DSLR camera. I am not a professional.
Please give me some directions…
i am looking to a low cost one..

i have no idea about mounts of cameras. anyone help?

I am in Photography school and this is the required hardware. I also have to purchase a Light Meter and Monitor Calibration Device. Any advice where the best buy for all would be? I’d like to stay under 500.00 for the camera.

I have an Olympus E510 DSLR camera. I want to know if I can buy the canon lenses in the market, if they’ll fit in my E510.

I’m having this confusion to buy canon, or nikon dslr camera
well, any other brand of camera recommendation would be a huge help for me :D
I don’t really understand much about those types of cameras
so help?
thank you…

p.s any answers would be highly appreciated

i enjoy taking pictures of people and landscape and close ups and everything!
it’s just, i have no idea what camera to get!
i know they are expensive, and i want the camera that i spend loads of money on to be PERFECT and i want no regrets with buying it!
please tell me some good ones?
i have NEVER done anything with photgraphy, and i was hoping you could teach me everything.

I am currently using the Canon Rebel XT/350D via my photography class in college. I have found a website that has decently priced cameras, and I have the following options:
The Canon XTI with standard 18-55 Kit Lens
Nikon D40 with the 18-55mm VR kit lens and 55-200mm Lenses
or the Nikon D60 with the 18-55 VR kit lens, all for roughly the same price.
I like the extra lens with the d40, but will the lower MPixels be sufficient?
I basically want to take pictures of everyday things, Extreme sports wont really be my thing, but landscapes, nature, etc will be. Also Macro photos as well. I am wondering which camera will do the trick.
Thanks in advance.
