Does most canon dslr work with their 55mm lens?

See some less extreme nikon dslr not engine built-in camera work as some makes their lenses, canon has the same problem? TI1 or xsi works with the objective of 55 mm?

Canon doesn’t currently offer a 55mm lens but, they have had three different 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 zooms with the current version offering image stabilization. There is also a fairly expensive, image stabilized 17-55mm f/2.8 zoom. All of these lenses will work with the XSi, T1i or any Rebel, or X0D series camera like the 50D and the new 7D.
