I know there are filters out there, but what kind of filters do you (the people with DSLR cameras) use to make your pictures pretty? And you can also tell me what other things you use to capture the beauty of the moment. I know about Photoshop being able to enhance images nicely, but I want to know what you can use for the DSLR camera without having to go through editing it heavily.

A DSLR (digital Single Lens Reflex) camera is intended for more advanced users who know how to use manual exposure. Somehow,I don’t think you were ready for that.
Taking “pretty” pictures are from knowing how to use light, and how to properly expose the picture. It has nothing to do with Photoshop.
In fact, guess what…there were plenty of very “pretty” and “amazing” pictures that were taken with manual FILM cameras, with NO editing. The fact that you think everything is done with a lot of editing and “photoshopping” makes me think that you don’t know anything at all about photography.
I also wonder whether you were really ready for a $500 DSLR camera.
If you want crisp, clear pictures, then learn how to use manual exposure. Learn what shutter speed and aperture setting to use in different lighting conditions. Hold the camera steady. Use the right lighting (for taking pictures outside, the best time of day is either early in the morning, or later in the afternoon). Learn when to use the flash, and when NOT to use the flash.
In other words, to get “pretty” and “amazing” pictures, you are going to have to learn more about basic photography. That’s what every other photographer has done. And they took great pictures, long before there was Photoshop.
If you use all your skills as a photographer, you will not need any thing special to make “pretty” pictures … that is a matter of perfect exposures, excellent composition, use of lighting and lens selection.
* Perfect exposure — use and trust your light meter
* Lighting is something you have to learn to “see” before you press the shutter release, whether it is natural, ambient or studio lighting
If you think you have do depend upon Photoshop to “fix” your images, you need to take at least a couple of classes in photography
“capturing the beauty of the moment” is exactly that- not editing it.
i think the best pictures are unedited, whether digital or film.
real life is most beautiful to me
but single lens reflex cameras greatly enhance the quality so it doesn’t look like a cheap point-and-shoot shot
and yes i have a dslr.
I’ve had SLR film cameras since 1956, and switched to DSLR last year. “Pretty” is subjective. Take pictures that are exposed properly, focused, composed well, and you will have the stuff you want. You might try a polarizing filter to eliminate unwanted reflections or to darken the sky. Experiment, take lots of pics, and have fun with it.
