That would be a fairly short life.
Different Nikon DSLR’s have different shutter life ratings.

For example, a D50 is rated at approximately 25,000 shutter actuations, according to one source. Another places the D40, D40x, D50, D60, D70, D70s, & D80 at 80,000, while rating the models above at 250,000.

Either way, Nikon will replace your shutter for $150-250. Then you’ll be off shooting again!

It does depend upon the camera model (more expensive models typically will last longer) and luck.
At 1000 photos a day, the camera would probably last less than a year and, if it is an entry level model, it could fail in 2 months or less.
For that kind of use, a point and shoot, although less image quality, would last a lot longer.

One other comment…unless you are doing time lapse photography, 1000 photos a day, every day, is an incredible amount. I think you might get better photos if you took less but were more selective in the photos you take.

Until it breaks. There is no timing and ruling for that. Some D70 have made 180000 shots without problems. But that’s not an evidence, nor is it a guarantee that your will do the same. High end Nikon’s like d200/300/700 are guaranteed to work 150000 shots, D3(x) 200000.

Guaranteed in the way it gets replaced for free if it breaks before. Nobody can guarantee hows long a part goes until it breaks. On the other side, try to match your challenge and take 1000 intelligent and usable shots a day …. :-)

As other posters have said, it’ll range. It could be 25 days, it could be 200 days. That being said, if you’re taking 1000 photos a day you seriously need to reconsider your shooting habits (unless you’re a school portrait photog or something).
