How To Attach A Ricoh Lens To A Canon Dslr?

I have a canon XSi. I was wondering if i could somehow use my old Ricoh KR-30sp’s lens (a Rikenon P Zoom 28-100mm macro) on my canon. Is there a lens converter kit or something of the sort I can buy so i can use this lens on my canon? Thanks.

Amazon have a listing for a Pentax to Canon EOS adapter, but are showing it out of stock. The Ricoh mount is dimensionally the same as the Pentax K mount, but there are known difficulties using Rikinon lenses on Pentax bodies.

Its theoretically possible with an adaptor ring but you’ll have no autofocus and the lens may not produce as good results as its not designed for that camera.
On top of that 28-100 is a very awkward focal length for a digitial camera. Modern Cannon DSLRs have what is caused a “crop factor” meaning that smaller DSLRs get more maginification from the lens. Times all numbers by 1.6 in order to get the “digital” focal legth (in this case 44.8-160)
A much better choice would be someting like a tamron 55-200 (if your on a budget) or a Sigma 70-300 APO.

Ricoh used the Pentax K mount, then went on to develop their own variant. So it cant be used on your Canon.
A word of warning DO NOT put a Ricoh lens on a modern day Pentax the Ricoh lenses have a spring loaded contact that matches exactly with the Pentax K Auto Focus drive port position on the lens mount, once on its the devils own job to get them off again.

No, generally lenses made by different camera companies cannot be used on others.
While the 28-100 mm macro would be a cool lens to use on a DSLR, you will have to look for a lens that is compatible with Canon EOS cameras

There is an adapter for a K-mount lens to the Canon EOS mount. Yu should be able to find it on-line.
