In Your Opinion, What Is The Best Nikon Dslr Camera Out There?

D3 is the winner for most serious pros.
The new D3x has gotten at best a lukewarm reception, partly because of the price tag, but mostly because of all the D3 features (continuous frame rate D3 9fps vs D3x 1.8fps in 14-bit raw, 2 stops loss of usable ISO sensitivity) you have to sacrifice to get the extra pixels.

For sports, the D3 is the absolute best (low noise at high ISO) … second would be the Nikon D300 (1.5x focal length multiplier) increases the reach of you lenses)
For Fashion, landscapes and studio work the $8500 D3x might be the best

it depends on what ur looking to do and how much u want to spend. if ur new to DSLR cameras, then i wouldn’t suggest the D3 or D300. those are insanely expensive and are truly professional cameras. the Nikon D40 is very cheap but the quality, in my opinion, isn’t that good. the Nikon D80 is under $1000 and puts out high quality pictures. in all honesty, i think Nikon’s aren’t worth their money. Canons are noticeably cheaper and are of equal quality to the Nikons. If you’re new to DSLR cameras, i suggest either the canon rebel Xti or Xsi, depending on how much money you have. the xti is good for a starter DSLR, its what i have, and the Xsi is good for the next step up. but if money isn’t a problem for you, go for the Xsi, you’ll get your money’s worth. don’t waste your time with a Nikon until you gain lots of experience and knowledge. you don’t want to spend $9000+ on a camera that you never end up using
