I’m looking into making short films but my Canon IXUS now has a shutter problem, so I thought I might as well get a new one. So in my case, which is more worth it? Are HD DSLR cameras that bad?
I’m getting my first DSLR, a Canon XSI bundled with a 18-55 IS lens.
I am only interested in shooting things found in nature and macro.
What are the necessary accessories that I should have?
Thanks.
I don’t know how to use this camera at all! Does anyone have any quick bits of advice/ top tips for using this amazing camera?
Not too beginners, nor too advanced.
I have a Canon S2IS (5MP, bunch of options, 2+ years old)

I’m looking at replacing my old digital camera and initially wanted to buy a DSLR, but now I think I’d rather go with something more compact and lightweight. What’s a really nice point-and-shoot camera but with DSLR results?
The camera I currently have, a Panasonic Lumix 12x optical zoom is great, but I want to upgrade to a DSLR. What kind of lens do I need on a DSLR that will give me the same zoom? I’m currently looking at the Nikon d40x.
I was recently told that I’d be surprised of how many Nikon folks are that Canon doesn’t have manual control over the popup flash. It has TTL flash exposure compensation but Nikon also let’s you set it to 1/4th power or 1/2 power for example.
I was just wondering if any Nikon dSLR users actually use this feature.
