My main interests are landscape/scenery and the compacts I’ve used just don’t meet the grade. In my price range, does it make sense to buy a cheap DSLR like the EOS 1000D/Rebel XS with a better than kit lens or should I buy something like the Nikon 5000D with the standard 18-55 lens? Many thanks!

They said that Nikon is the best brand for professional cameras.. i need to know specifically what model of nikon can do best for photography with affordable price.

I have been using point-and-shoot for a few years now and I think I’m ready for the DSLR.

What can you do with a DSLR that you cant do with a fully manual point and shoot? Not sure what is better.

Please explain thoroughly. I’m very confused. Thanks to those who are willing to help out! :)
So, which is much, much better, a professional camera or a DSLR?

Plan To Pursue Photography In College?
I want a good dslr camera but i dont have too much to spend i have to save it up myself so i want this to be a good investment. i have shopped around a bit but i would like some other opinions.

I am looking to buy a really nice camera. I would like to buy a DSLR but I’m running into a problem and can only find 2 with the video feature…which are way to expensive. The video feature is important to me since I have my kids. Does anyone know of a good SLR-like camera that has that feature? I need to stay under $400 or so.

I own a canon point and shoot and I would like to get a dslr that can produce better quality. What are some good entry-level dslr cameras? What about lenses? Any information or tips for a beginner?

I’m in the market for a good entry level DSLR. The issue is that many dealers in India sell cameras without manufacturer warranty. This puts a question mark on the quality/legality of the product and I don’t want to get ripped off buying a refurbished product. There’s nothing that will help me avoid buying a used product but I know that refurbished products have certain identification marks. If I get to know what these are at least I will be able to avoid buying such products.
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance

I have a Canon Digital Rebel XTi and I already have the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II which I love! But I want to have a wider variety of lenses to choose from and I’m sort of on a budget.
They don’t necessary have to be made by Canon, as long as they fit on my camera and work nicely.
Thanks in advance for the help!
