The camera I currently have, a Panasonic Lumix 12x optical zoom is great, but I want to upgrade to a DSLR. What kind of lens do I need on a DSLR that will give me the same zoom? I’m currently looking at the Nikon d40x.

I am planning on buying a polarizing filter to go with my zoom lens with my Canon 20D DSLR.
When shooting:
- I use autofocus most of the time
- I adjust the metering manually sometimes (trying to do it more often now)
I am not sure if I should buy a linear or circular polarizer.

I am seriously thinking about investing in a new DSLR camera. The problem is…there are just so many out there. I’ve been reading review after review, but I can’t seem to find a standout.
My question is this: what is the best DSLR camera out there for amateurs? Keeping in mind, I am a beginner and will need to learn how to use the bad boy, but I don’t want that to handicap my camera choice.

I Dropped My Zoom Lens 300m For My Canon Dslr Camera. I Won’t Turn Now To Focus. Can It Be Fixed?
Yes it can be fixed. Is it worth fixing is another story. This will depend on which 300mm zoom it is. If it is the 70-300mm IS then it very well may be worth fixing. If it is the 70-300 non IS or the 75-300 then probably not as these lenses are under $200 brand new. Call Canon and ask them what they think.
Can I Use My Old Canon Film Camera Lenses On A New Canon Dslr?
I have a Canon EOS Rebel X S film camera which I bought around 1996. Is it possible to use the auto focus lenses from this camera on a newer, digital Canon? I do not see anywhere on the camera body or the lenses where it says either FD or EF, so unless you can tell me where to find these markings, that won’t help. Thanks in advance for your help.
