What Is A Good Quality, Yet Affordable Zoom Lens, For A Canon Eos Dslr?

I am fairly new to photography and am interested in buying a zoom lens. What are some suggestions for a good middle level zoom, that is affordable (I am thinking in the $500 – $600 range)? Must be compatible with a canon EOS dSLR.

The 55-250 mm is a good lenses to add to your current 18-55 mm lens.
IF you have any 35 mm EOS, you will then be limited to EF lenses only, since EF-S lenses can damage the mirrors in 35 mm and full frame DSLR cameras.

$500-600 is a good price range to start when looking for a good quality lens. My pick would be a top quality lens like the EF 70-200mm f/4L USM. It costs around US$600…a bargain.
If you had an extra US$500, you could get an even better version (with IS) for an extra US$500. Or, there’s the f/2.8 version which will set you back even more.
You can buy cheaper zoom lenses with similar focal lengths, but you won’t be getting image quality and sharpness as good as the above.
    good luck…

best bet right there in your price range. you can pretty much use it in any situation. and since f stop is at 2.8 you can shoot even in low light situations. its only about $350. maybe you could use the extra cash for something else you might need
