Not the D40. Lenses are expensive unless you get ones that don’t autofocus because the body doesn’t autofocus. You would have to focus manually. Get the Canon Digital Rebel or one of the entry level Sony cameras. I have a Sony and it’s great because you can buy used Minolta lenses for cheap and they work great.
Reasonable price? Okay, what’s reasonable to you as far as the price range?
Most cameras are reasonably priced but there are some amateurs out there that have a bit of cash, if you know what I mean.
Nikon D40, I have it and am absolutely in love with it.
It’s amazing for starting and then you can always upgrade later on.
D40 or D60 nikon . Take about 25000 snapshots with either of them and you would be answering questions , instead of asking on this forum.
