The Rebels To Be Specific. Or You Can Just Say It Generally?
I’ve heard of tamron. but what are the other ones. just answer it generally and not too specific. i just need names and ill check them out.

Canon’s autofocus mount is the EF lens mount. Often with third party manufacturers, they will simply say “Canon” or “Canon AF” which is the same thing for autofocus lenses.
Canon also makes autofocus lenses specifically for the Rebel lineup and the 40D/30D/etc. series called “EF-S”. These are lenses designed for the sensor used in these cameras, which is smaller than a 35mm film frame.
Thus, your Rebel can take any lens labeled “Canon”, “Canon AF”, EF, and EF-S. It cannot take manual focus Canon lenses.
Third party manufacturers that make compatible lenses:
Tamron, Sigma, and Tokina. And of course, Canon.
Probably the best fit for the Canons, oddly enough, are the CANON line of lenses. They also happen to be the best performers, though they are somewhat more expensive. There are third party manufacturers like Tokina, Tamron, and Sigma that also manufacture lenses for the Canon mount, but most of them are not worth it unless you need an otherwise expensive lens.
general rule of thumb, as with using the right photo paper with a photo printer.. manufacturers quality test their own products with their own products and build their products around that. So I would stick with Canon lenses for your Canon. Not that third parties are bad or anything and you can certainly find cheaper 3rd party lenses that might be comparable. opinions varies from user to user. Anyway, if price is an issue, read up on reviews of 3rd party lenses. All you need to look out for is the “EF” or “EF-S” mount for the Canon Rebel. Sigma, i have read from reviews, is making some pretty advancements on the quality of their lenses.
