Try a Fuji FinePix S5600 DSLR – Good camera – Easy to use – Not too expensive now.
I have been using one for the past two years and can’t fault it. It cost me about £145 at that time. Now they are quite a bit cheaper.
That fuji is not a digital SLR camera.
The 1000d is fine.
I have the Nikon D40, and it grows as you grow. I’ve used it as a beginner, and now, a pretty avid photographer.
